For CHINGLISH BROADWAY:
"The audience with which I saw the show seemed happiest when it was privy to the misinterpretations of the hapless interpreters (played by Angela Lin and Johnny Wu) used in business meetings. Some of these are pretty delicious and deflate the pomposity of business spiels."
Ben Brantley,
"Silvermans cast finds variations on Hwangs gag particularly Angela Lin and Johnny Wu as inept translators."
Mark Pelkert, New York Press
"...superb supporting performances by Johnny Wu and Angela Lin. Wu and Lin both play young translators and party officials, both transforming so completely they are barely recognizable in their later roles."
Andi Stover, California Literary Review
For CONCERNING STRANGE DEVICES:
Wu's edgy, self-confident art dealer Hiro conceals several layers of ulterior motives.

Bio
Johnny was born in Shanghai, China, and grew up in Queens, NY. He attended Stuyvesant High School in downtown Manhattan and applied to colleges thinking he would pursue a career in finance. He found his passion for acting senior year of Stuyvesant after being accepted to the School of Management at Binghamton University. Despite his mother's best efforts, Johnny decided to start college as a theatre major. Johnny knew nothing of auditioning and hadn't even read a play then, but after being convinced to audition "for the experience", he wound up being the only freshman cast in the Mainstage production that semester. From there, owing much to his professors in both class and production, Johnny grew rapidly through the ranks of Binghamton, earning significant roles on stage over the four years. Upon completion of his BA, Johnny auditioned for the top three graduate acting programs in the country - The Yale School of Drama, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and UC San Diego. He was accepted into all three programs with full scholarships. He decided to have a change of scenery and head out to the West Coast, where UCSD accepts 8 students a year out of roughly a thousand people who audition. Since receiving his MFA in Acting, Johnny has enjoyed a well-balanced beginning to his career split between stage, TV, and film. In 2011, Johnny made his Broadway debut with Tony Award-winning playwright David Henry Hwang's Chinglish. He currently resides in his hometown, the love of his life, New York City.
